I like to plan way ahead and I am looking for dates for the 2008 football season.

Our non-conference games that are set are:
    Kansas St. 8/30/08
    Illinois 9/13/08
Kent St. won't be 9/6/07 because they are playing Iowa St.
    Southern Miss ?
    A home game ?

We have 3 home conference and 4 road this year.

    UL Football The 2008 Schedule

I was just looking up, who I thought would be the top 5 college football teams for 2008 and looking at their schedules. It should shape up to be a good one. West Virginia gets Auburn at home, USC gets Ohio St. at home, Florida gets Hawaii at home, Oklahoma goes to Miami, Georgia goes to Arizona St. I really like that alot of the major powers are starting to put at least one non-conference game on the schedule that is interesting to the nation. Like the Oh. St. USC game next year that's a big time game, those two teams will be in the top 5 at the beginning of the season and that is the 2nd or 3rd game of each teams season. So with non-conference games like these you see better football and more battle tested teams come conference and bowl games. Of course there is the possibility of a bunch of 2 loss teams and it being another year like the one that just past. haha

i like that also, but when top 10 teams beat up on each other all season, you could very well end up with a 2 loss champion.

I'm just hoping that one team can show dominance throughout the season.

I hope Hawaii had fun while they were at the top. Good job losing the best coach you'd ever get because you didn't want to put any money in your program.

Hawaii is screwed either way, being so far out on the islands. This past season is the best they could ever hope for, aside from a bowl victory. The best game next year in my mind is clearly tOSU vs USC. USC should send tOSU's hopes for a MNC game birth packing early. GA at ASU will be an interesting game. GA could be a preseason Top 3 team and ASU should be a Top 15 team.

Yeah Hawaii is kind of a crapshoot, they are pretty much the only University that i know of in Hawaii which would lead one to believe they get the big bucks but apparently not. They can't get teams to travel there and for them to travel anywhere is so expensive. They have to save what little money they have to travel for away games and for recruiting trips which I have heard is extremely under budgeted. I have heard that the facilities are terrible. I wouldn't want to coach there.

June Jones doesn't want to coach there either. He is SMU bound.

Teams like USC and Ohio St. have recently been willing to go out of conference and get quality games. USC has played Arkansas and Auburn in recent years (while spanking the SEC) along with games against Notre Dame every year. Ohio St. has been playing Texas recently although this years schedule was a joke.
