I don't know which one of these comments are more ridiculous.
Inquirer: "Tee Joe takes the reins of ULL fresh from rounding up votes in the Legislature for a hefty tuition increase imposed on the backs of students and their parents. And students just learned they will face increased parking fees beginning this Fall."
-The tuition increase was long overdue, and came in very short of hefty, when compared to UL's peers.
TheSparrow: "The result is a university that cares more about athletics than about education, because athletics = entertainment = money, money, money!"
-UL cares more about athletics than education??? This person cannot be serious
swbulldog: "As politicians rather than scholars start filling the ranks of academic leadership, hope dims on UL Lafayette becoming a true center of academic excellence."
-First, I want my scholars in the class and in the labs. Just becasue they can teach and do research, doesn't mean they know what to do with $150MM every year. There are some areas in the Administration where scholars are probably needed, but not in the Business and Finance Area. Second, I suppose that they all missed the sentence that stated that this was an interim hire, and the position would be filled with a search process.
