I would say Robe would have a lot of say so in what goes on or around his field.

Yes empty seats are an eye sore in the regular season BUT what has been our goal every season besides the CWS? Hosting regionals and super regionals. Thats why we are doing all of the expansion and facelifts in the first place. Yes the empty seats look bad, but if we host a regional, we've got more seats to put butts in.

One thing I do know. it was stipulated by the donor that an experienced stadium architect be used. One was located and has been involved for a while. We should have a good product when all is said & done.

I would like to see some sort of "patio and walkway" built around the outfield wall and in between the pine trees. Each patio between trees could be rented out each game to make extra money. Have portl-o-potties at each end and a beer stand. This would be a great place to watch a game right on top of the outfield wall. This could be done very professional looking and would be very unique.

The latest I heard from several sources is that they will pursue the renovation versus a new stadium. From what I have been able to gather we will get a first class renovation.

I saw Troy's baseball stadium. They have turf and it looked stupid. Sorry but that is not baseball. Just look at what they are doing in the majors. Not only does a retractable roof eliminate rainouts, but it allows you to easily grow natural grass. _
In 20 years 80+% of college baseball teams with have fieldturf. Zero to low maintainence, lower long term cost, less rainouts, etc, etc etc. I would guess the mound will be the only dirt in the place when our new field gets done. I'm sure the players won't complain because they do much of the field maintenence now.
Apparently the teams that have put in fieldturf but kept the dirt infield all wish they had just done all fieldturf. To me that sounds like a happy medium but what do I know.
I'm not saying I like it but it will probably happen.

Cut every other Pine tree now, plant in its place Bald Cypress tree's. As they get 30ft tall or so, cut more Pine tree's and plant in their place more Bald Cypress until the back drop is truely Louisiana Cajun'! Just a thought because Pine tree's remind me of North Louisiana not Cajun Country. Our whole campus should be Bald Cypress and Live Oaks. Ok maybe some water, red and pin oaks also a few maple, pecans............

Indeed... but in 30 years we will have virtual players... and get this... virtual fans. I spoke to the people in charge of this epic transformation and they said that in order to retain the spirit of Cajun fans when they go 100% virtual... they will have a large number that moan and groan on a "virtual basis"... others will be virtualized as parking lot partiers that never fully participate... and get this... they are going to allow some to play in the grass, and the pine trees, just to tic off some of the other virtual fans. They will also have a continuous virtual feed of pending announcements to keep the virtual fans on the edge of their virtual seats. It is also planned to go back from field turf to virtual real grass. They took a vote from the virtual fans and that is what they virtually wanted.

It's going to be sweet!!! IMVO

I may have been the first to mention the tree houses, this was back on Nov. 26th, 2008 when I first mentioned it here on Ragin Pagin in this thread.

I already built my tree house, well for my kids. Actually not in a tree just in the Tree Line, has A/C and Heat, 6 windows, 2 porches upstairs, 1 screened in porch downstairs, cart ramp, 2 trap doors, 2 full size doors, bridge to deck above swing set, game cube and TV. Not bad for my first one!
