I have a question for Brian or anyone else who might know:
I know it is way yearly for this discussion but an Alice Shoe fan at work this morning was running his mouth about the game not mattering last night.
I know that the game didn't affect either team's RPI very much but his statement was that even though the Cajuns get seeded higher than the Tigers, if the two teams met in a Super Regional it would be played in BR.
I am pretty sure that it he higher seeded team gets to host the Super. Am I wrong? Please explain.
I believe there are 8 national seeds and as long as they are in the hunt they would host any regional or super regional.
I think a 2 seed could host a regional but I'm pretty sure the higher seed host the super.
earl, im guessing that is what your wife says.... Your a half _____ winner
Earls wife is a happy woman. Her nick name for him is the 20 second wonder. Yea, she only has to let him on for less than half a minute, and for that she is forever grateful.
Earl, Earl, Earl...
What are you doing? Just come on here and tell us that the Cajuns played a great game. Tell us good luck on the rest of our season and we will do the same to you. Then, come back when UL and LSU faces each other again. It's pointless to come on here and attempt to get a "dig" in on us. It's useless. We won the game.
Good luck on the rest of your season. Maybe the two teams will face off again post season play... See, that's how you do it Earl. Saying anything else is well...just embarrasing for you.
There are only 8 national seeds. However, there are 16 host sites. 8 of the host sites are not seeded nationally. If a national seed loses out in the regional, the super regional is then played at the next highest ranked teams site that is paired with that national seeds regional.
Consideration is given to the higher seed. Especially if your one of the eight national seeds. This is a guideline and not a rule. If the Tigers and Cajuns both hosted regionals and were outside the top eight national seeds it could get a little interesting because they are more likely to consider facilities at that point.
Cajun90,
That is incorrect. Each non seeded regional is paired with a seeded regional. Therefore, non-seeded regional winners can not play in a supper regional against each other.
