MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - One of the Toronto Blue Jays' newest acquisitions continues to earn accolades following his senior season. Departed Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns left-handed pitcher Hunter Moody (Clinton, La.) was named to the ABCA/Rawlings South Central All-Region First Team.

This marked the second career ABCA South Central All-Region honor for the southpaw. He also earned first team accolades following his Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Year campaign of 2006.

Moody, was selected in the 35th Round by the Toronto Blue Jays in last week's 2008 MLB Draft, concluded his stellar four-year career as a first team All-Sun Belt selection thanks to a 9-2 season with a 3.26 ERA. He finished as the school's winningest pitcher with a 31-7 all-time record, compiling an impressive .816 winning percentage. Moody also leaves as one of only four pitchers in Sun Belt Conference history to win 30 games and finishes his illustrious career ranked in the top five of four major pitching categories - wins, strikeouts, innings pitched and games started.

In what was his final home game as a Cajun, Moody tossed his first complete game of the season en route to a 6-1 victory over Troy in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championship. Moody's one-run performance with six strikeouts earned him All-Tournament honors. His 31st career win on the hill moved into third place on the Sun Belt career victories list.

In the second game of the 2008 season, the Roger Clemens Award nominee combined to throw the first one-hit shutout for the Cajuns since Feb. 22, 1984. He tossed two combined shutouts to open this senior season and earned three Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week honors - the most in school history. Earlier this season, he became the first pitcher in school history to be named SBC Pitcher of the Week in successive weeks.

The 2008 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-American Teams will be announced later this week at the College World Series in Omaha, Neb.
