    Doesn't matter, no one is much interested. And actually, I would have gotten it wrong myself.

    The original theme song for the WWS was "Conquest," but all these years I thought it was from the movie El Cid.

    It was actually from Captain from Castile*, about Cortez, not El Cid (click the link and select "Preview All"... if you're old enough, it will bring back long-forgotten memories).

    Later the WWS replaced it with their a piece composed for the show, the one everyone old enough remembers.

    *Not to be confused with The Captain and Tennille, nor should "Conquest" be confused with "Muskrat Love."

    man i love it when dead el cid rides out on that horse and leads his men to victory and just keeps on riding. blew me away as a kid.
