Thread: Lady Cajuns enjoyed, expected this season's success

  1. UL Softball Lady Cajuns enjoyed, expected this season's success

"So make the best of this test and don't ask why.
It's not a question but a lesson learned in time.
It's something unpredictable but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life."
    - Green Day, "Time of Your Life"

OKLAHOMA CITY - Green Day's lyrics blared over the speakers at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium as Michael Lotief stood in right field and spoke to his UL softball players in the early morning hours of June 1.

The emotions of a 3-1 season-ending loss to Alabama in the Women's College World Series were still fresh on the faces of the Ragin' Cajuns as the voice of their raspy co-coach's voice carried across the field. Eventually the tears dried. A laugh or two could be heard across the infield.

Lotief ended his speech about 30 minutes later as Cajun players and coaches stood and embraced in a group hug. Making its first World Series trip in five years, UL fell short of winning the program's first national championship. Lotief still spoke highly of his players afterward.

a group of young women very deserving of the attention they are getting now for their accomplishments.
they will be busy all next week at the Ragin' Cajuns Softball summer camp giving tips, instruction and inspiration to a few hundred little girls who dream of being in the position they (Ragin ' Cajuns softball team) are in in a few years.

Who knows, there may be a few future Ragin' Cajuns stars in camp this week.

I had NO DOUBT that this team was going to be GREAT. I thought they might still be a year off, but I'm ECSTATIC to have been proven wrong!! The only bad thing now (IF you consider it a bad thing!) is that next year's expectations will be SKY HIGH!!!

It is a nice article... but I don't think I'm going out on a limb by saying these young ladies are going to have many future "times of their lives".
