    Default Bayou Bowl TX-24 LA-14

Annual HS All Star Football Game pitting Louisiana kids against Houston area kids is set for this Saturday night in Baytown Texas. There are three Ragin Cajun signees participating. They are QB Blane Gauthier-Lutcher, DE Sean Osborne-Dutchtown, and DT Blake Dean-McDonough 35 (New Orleans). In the past, this game has been televised on Fox Sports. It does not appear that will be the case this year. Regardless, reports are that Dean has been one of the impressive guys in the practices heading up to this game. Info was provided by Kevin Foote on his radio show this morning.

Actually Kevin has mentioned things involving the Cajuns quite often in recent months. Back during the winter, having Big Dave with him on Wednesdays led to a lot of basketball conversation. He also talked a lot about the girls softball team last week.

For some reason, there are not as many callers who discuss the Cajuns on his show as some of the others. It is probably because he also brings up the pro sports more than other hosts.

It will be shown, just not live... Planned for a tape delay broadcast Monday night on Fox Sports Southwest (7 pm)...

  5. UL Football Local players, coaches enjoy All-Star fanfare

Eunice assistant coach Durell Peloquin had been to one Bayou Bowl prior to this summer in a different capacity.

Then he was basically observing as the vice-president of the Louisiana High School Coaches Association.

Now that Peloquin is participating in the Texas vs. Louisiana Bayou Bowl All-Star football game in Baytown, Texas as the LHSCA's president, he's sold on the event.

The game will be played at 8 p.m. Saturday at Stallworth Stadium in Baytown, a community just this side of Houston and one dedicated to making it a first-class event for all involved.

The game will be televised on a tape-delayed basis on FOX Southwest (local channel 38) on Monday evening and the NFL Network will air it at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 14.

BAYTOWN, Texas - It just looked right.

A left-handed quarterback bouncing around in the pocket in a red jersey with white lettering across the chest.

And even though it wasn't his most stellar passing night (3-10-28 yards, 3 Int.), Lutcher's Blaine Gautier showed explosive running abilities in an offense that mirrored the Ragin' Cajuns' style he'll be a part of next season in the Bayou Bowl at Stallworth Stadium Saturday night.

"We all have games like that when things just don't go your way, but the coaches at UL know what I'm capable of doing," Gautier said. "I'm just excited about being a part of the Ragin' Cajuns family. I start school next week, so I'm excited about getting in there and getting started."

Team Texas defeated team Louisiana 24-14, to capture only the second win for Texas in six attempts.
