Community Foundation of Acadiana announced today a grant from a donor-advised fund to the National Incident Management Systems and Advanced Technologies (NIMSAT).

NIMSAT is an initiative whose mission is to “To research, develop, educate, train, support and supply the nation with all-hazards prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery best-practices.” To meet their mission, NIMSAT seeks to understand the vulnerabilities of the nation's infrastructure and to maximize the efficiency of private sector supply chains in the wake of a disaster.

NIMSAT was established by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and officially launched in March.
