Hunters stats:
He's 2-0 with an ERA 1.23, Hit's 12, runs 4, 2 earned, walked 3, SO 14, Innings pitched 14.2
Frenchie:
Hunter picked up a Save in a 2-0 victory against the GCL Yankees at their park last week but the Yankees scorekeeper failed to show the pitching change and did not have Hunter in the book. The Blue Jays are trying to get this mistake corrected. In that game Hunter went in and closed out the 9th with a leadoff walk, two K's swinging and a flyout to left field to pick up the Save.
So as of today 7/13/08, Hunter has pitched in 6 games - 2 starts, 2 middle reliefs, and 2 closes - for 15.2 innings, 16 SO, 4BB, 2ER, 12 Hits, 1.15 ERA
The Blue Jays are flying Hunter out this morning (Friday 7/25) leaving the Gulf Coast League Blue Jays in Dunedin, Florida to join their other short-season team, the Auburn Doubledays of the New York/Penn League in Auburn, New York. There he will be reunited with Danny Farquhar as teammates.
Hunter's stats with the GCL Blue Jays was: 3 Wins - 0 Loss - 1 Save, 8 Games, 2 Starts, 0.89 ERA, 20.1 IP, 23 SO, 4BB,
WOW! Not bad for a 35th rounder. Sometimes, velocity can be overrated. When you have control, the ability to mix it up, and quite simply, great talent, its not hard to be successful.
I'm preaching to the choir. We all know Hunter is one of the best to ever put on the vermilion and white. Keep it up Hunter!
Excellent!
Go to the Doubleday's site and listen to them on the radio. They are playing now against Williamsport leading 4-3 in the third.
