So looking at the map, you can only get to Reinhardt from the Bertrand/S. College gate. Is there a valid reason why they couldn't allow entrance from the Cajundome Blvd/Souvenir Gate/Reinhardt intersection? Seems like that could help alleviate some congestion.
Its Mardi Gras weekend. 2 top 25 teams are playing at the Tigue. One of those teams is The Cajuns. Geno Delafose is playing in the parking lot. I mean no disrespect, but the pope himself could not alleviate the congestion. Just plan on leaving your house early and the traffic to be heavy.
Basketball game is at 3 pm Sunday. Baseball is supposed to start at 1:00. I'm hoping they move baseball up an hour or two...

I contacted the Mardi Gras Association and was assured that even after designated baseball parking fills up, baseball fans will be able to park in the other available parking areas provided a baseball ticket is shown upon entry... or it will cost $10. I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing the gate at the NorthWest corner of Cajun Field (Congress/Bertrand corner) on Congress will be open as well...
Looking forward to the weekend! Hope we get tomorrow's game in!
GEAUX CAJUNS!
I thought there was a "Friday Night Parade" on the 28th starting at 6:30, but it is not listed. Maybe it was cancelled or moved? Regardless, it was supposed to start at 6:30 with game at 6:00... so no issues related to the parade getting IN if you are getting to the game in its first part.
Saturday - 12:30 Childrens and 6:30 Krewe of Bonaparte. - Childrens could be an issue with the 2:00 first pitch. I'd suggest getting to the Tigue early.
Sunday - NO PARADES! ;-)
Friday Night Parade is listed on this site:

Friday Night Parade, Lafayette, 6:30 pm
(numerous men's krewes, full route, see link at top of page)
So Saturday the parade starts at 12:30 which probably means 1:00 and is going down the street where the people are suppose to enter for the game---Help---I am not trying to be a negative but are you saying get to the game at 11 for a 2 o'clock first pitch??? I think that the other R-DR gate might work out a little!!!
You know VO did play collegiate baseball, although not here, but at a program that has won a CWS. His gripes are warranted.
If you allow the biggest series of the season to be overshadowed by a fair and parades then y'all are pathetic. Any in inconvenience to the paying fan without monetary compensation should not be tolerated.
If Louisiana athletics told the Marci Gras Association to shove it unless this amount of $$$$$ made it into the RCAF what would they do? Move the fair? Move the Parade? I seriously doubt it.
This is ridiculous..... We put 25k in for a football game and everyone is having a cow over 3k for baseball. .... A non problem as I've never seen. Boomer the parades END at Cajunfield; they don't start there. Leave for the game 15-20 minutes early at most and here is the key.....get ready.....have your ticket ready to show when entering the parking lot!!!
The Good Lord willing I will be there.......-a few minutes earlier than normal.
Route for the children's parade is shorter than the other parades... It probably gets to Cajun Field faster than the others... I don't think you need to get there at 11 for a 2:00 first pitch. Parade starts at 12:30... I'll probably shoot for between 1-1:30.
Route map: http://www.mardigraslafayette.net/Pa...oute%20Map.pdf
If you want to time it better than that, there is actually an app that will use GPS to track the parade as it progresses... It is linked at the Southwest Mardi Gras Assoc. website.... then you will know where the parade is as you approach the field...
It's all good!
Thank you for the obvious remarks, but your response did not address the question I asked about why that side of Reinhardt couldn't be opened.
I live in the White subdivision, as was mentioned in the twister thread, so I may walk to the complex if the weather and time allows. But I'm a young guy, the walking doesn't bother me. Just thinking of some others who live in my area or the Saint Streets who would find it a whole lot easier to just cross over onto Reinhardt from Souvenir Gate or take a right from Cajundome Blvd. If you follow the map's suggestion then someone coming from my direction would have to go south down an already busy Congress, crossover onto Johnston somewhere, and then take Johnston to Bertrand to get in to the complex. Seems like a very round about way to do it.
