Cajun field has entrances on Congress, Bertrand, and Cajundome Blvd. The one that will be open for baseball is the only one that has the posssibility of closing due to a parade. It is also the only entrance that you cannot take a left into. So if you are coming from the north you will need to make the block into parade crowd to take a right into the gate. If you are coming from the south you will need to cross Johnson and come down the Parade route. This should only be an issue on Friday unless the childrens parade is still going on Satuarday afternoon. Just not good planning in my opinion.
I think Cajundome Blvd would have been much better option for entrance into ball game. You can trun in from either direction or go straight across coming from St. Mary and no parades go down it at all.
Anyone know what time they shut down bertand for the Friday night parade?
They actually do shut down Cajundome Boulevard when the parade gets closer at about the same time that North college is shut down in order to stop the traffic so the floats can cut across to go to the Cajundome.
Even if the money goes to the university academic side and not athletics it would still hurt athletics not to have the money coming in from the event. If something has to be cut it will come from athletics first. I do think the money goes to athletics because baseball had to get permission from Farmer to play the game on that weekend.
We still get to use the stadium, we still get to park for free, it is just a little more of an inconvenience.
You are still missing mine. NO UL athletic team should ever have to juggle its schedule or inconvenience its fans for some non-UL entity to use any part of the campus, let alone any athletic facility. That they DO, absolutely screams "SMALL TIME" at the top of our lungs.
You're missing my point. We are still "small time". Get the thought out of your head that we have money pouring out the wazoo. There has to be money exchanging hands for this to be happening. Whether it be to academic or athletic program, that money disappears and it has to come from somewhere else. We brought Alabama to the tigue for a weekend series. Something we have never done before. We are ranked #10 in baseball. Something we have never done before. Be happy that we are making progress instead of finding something to _____ about.
I just know in the past that I tried to turn in when the parade was around Blackham, and it was blocked at CDB and Congress and was no able to get to Reinhardt.
---------Well I hope that Buckley can get his great design person to sketch up how we are suppose to get to the game---do the color deal with the arrows showing where to park----And Damn I just remembered I won't be here--Damn, is the W/E a sellout?? I know the grandstand is sold out for the year!!!
