Thread: Cajun Baseball vs Alabama

UL Baseball Cajun Baseball vs Alabama

On yesterday's show some one called in and asked Jay if the Cajuns had ever played a SEC team at home for a 3 game series. He said he didn't think the Cajuns had ever played and SEC school home or away for a three game series. Now I could be wrong with his response, but it got me to thinking so I looked up the answer. It also looks like these were all before Jay started calling Cajuns Baseball.

February 9-10, 1986 Cajuns played at Florida losing all three games 1-3, 2-9, 5-7
    Two game series
    March 13, 1991 Cajuns played at Mississippi State split a 2 games series W 8-1, L 4-6
April 14-15, 1992 Cajuns played at Auburn losing both games 0-10, 8-9

Not SEC schools but major baseball power house (not sure if they were at the time).
    March 9-10, 1973 Cajuns played at Texas losing all 4 games 1-4, 1-12, 0-9, 3-4
    April 11-12, 1974 Cajuns played at Texas losing all 4 games 3-9, 8-24, 1-5, 3-4
    April 7-8, 1975 Cajuns played at Texas losing all 3 games 0-10, 2-6, 0-3
    March 14-16, 1986 Cajuns played at Texas W 7-5, L 2-3, L 8-21
    February 22-24, 1991 Cajuns played at Texas L 1-3, W 11-8, L 3-8
    February 19-21, 1993 Cajuns played at Texas L 3-10, L 7-10, L 7-13
    March 4-5, 1974 Cajuns played at Texas A&M L 1-3, L 2-6, W 2-0, W7-6
    March 9-10, 1984 Cajuns played at Texas A&M W 8-2, W 4-1, W 6-2
    March 1-2, 1986 Cajuns played at Texas A&M L 2-3, L 2-16, L 6-11
    April 20-22, 2007 Cajuns played at Arizona State L 2-8, L 8-11, L 6-9

Craig --don't know my plans for sure but will buy a ticket from you if you have an extra or even by a few brews for the game for one--I bought the last Grand stand ticket and I am thinking Terri might to the Bama game!!!

Sorry MelRock, I hate to be the grammar Nazi and really do appreciate your input on this board. LOSING is the opposite of Charlie Sheening.

Maybe they lost because they were not loosed enough.

I have a fairly clear memory of Brendan Daley (sp?) one-hitting Ole Miss at the Tigue many years ago, but I think that was in the Louisiana Classics.

    Pretty good research right there.

Yeah, the question was SEC 3 game series at home. And, it looks like it has not happened.

The series on the road against SEC schools were in fact before I started doing the games. Now that you mention Miss. St., I do remember that one.

We also played Florida on the road in a midweek game in 1999. I referenced that game yesterday.

    BUt that's good stuff. Thanks.

Section A, here I come. Double flasking it this time. One didn't even get me past the fifth.

Get your big girl panties out and switch that half pint flask to a full pint. Problem solved.

Who's tailgating for the Saturday game? I know parking will be limited but I know the Cajun fans will make it work! Me and Conor are taking a break between school season and summer ball by making it to the Saturday game. Plan on getting there early and staying late.

Campo, I like your mentality but bigger isn't always better.... Concealing is the defactor to two small half pints. Easier to carry in the boots gotta keep it discrete.
