The theater in UL's Burke-Hawthorne Hall, the main performance space for the Performing Arts Department, is undergoing a complete renovation.
Seats have been torn out, the electrical and rigging systems have been hauled away, and the stage has been completely disassembled - all in an effort to revitalize the space and thrust it into the 21st century.
It's a perfect time for the renovation, because the same renovations are going on inside the Performing Arts Department itself. And Nyalls Hartman, the program's new department head and the man charged with bringing about that change, is aiming to push a small challenged program into the spotlight.
