A bit of boost from the bench has helped the UL basketball team at times during its current five-game win streak, and two Acadiana-area products – Abbeville High center J.J. Davenport and Comeaux High shooting guard Hayward Register – have had a hand in that.

Davenport had 13 points and six rebounds while logging 23 minutes in the Ragin’ Cajuns’ most-recent win, an 85-67 home victory over Arkansas State last Saturday night.
