Same thing applies when you let a grounder go down the line, but the infielder doesn't touch it until it crosses the line and goes foul. It's all about where the ball is in relation to the foul line when a fielder makes contact with it.
Back to the game at hand....
C'mon Cajuns!! Let's get some runs!
Damn, left two stranded and let a good opportunity slip away.
This next half inning is going to be huge for the Cajuns. We have the top of the order coming up. It is time for the big sticks to turn the tide. (or maybe I should save that line in case we play Alabama)
Sure, if it hits fair territory beyond first and third base before going foul.
To me, what happened is no different than when a ball his batted and hits behind the plate and rolls into fair play. This is a foul ball. In this game, the ball first hit in foul territory. Play over. No?
Brian
You are right if it goes foul first, then it is a foul all the way. If it starts out fair, goes foul, and then back into fair territory, then it is fair. Am I correct?
Bottom line is though, we can't win unless we score. This is the time to do it.
GEAUX CAJUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
