Wow. Disappointing start. So much for our ranking.

Not just our ranking, we have got to do VERY well all season to have any hope of getting a regional. This was a poor way to start. Weak pitching, no hitting, and sloppy in the field against basically a no name team. I'm usually very positive, but what the heck just happened here?????

Baseball just happened. I didn't expect it in our first game, but I think we've all seen head-scratchers like this game before. All the buildup to the season may have caused the team to lose a little bit of focus coming out the gate.

This loss to open the season my be the best thing for us. After so much positive press leading up to the start of the season, this may bring everyone back down to earth. Wins are earned on the field, not in the press!!!

I guess we were trying to make all the mistakes for the entire series in this one game. 2 errors, 2 balks, past balls, wild pitches, TERRIBLE base running mistake in a crucial spot, and only 3 hits. Can only go up from this stinker. We need to win with authority tomorrow and get this season started.
Oh, and the umpire behind the plate didn't change the outcome of the game since we were so bad, but he was absolutely horrible!

Exactly... I expected to see a few "sky is falling" posts but I'm glad the majority of this board has a grasp of baseball. Good wake up call for this team. GEAUX CAJUNS! Can't wait for the DH tomorrow
