The formula for success reads as follows for UL's softball team.

First, take a strong core of returning players, led by outfielder Holly Tankersley, third baseman Melissa Verde and pitcher Brittany Cuevas.

Add in two senior transfers in second baseman Vanessa Soto (LSU) and shortstop Brooke Brodhead (McNeese State).

Throw in a recruiting class that has produced the Sun Belt's pitcher of the year and SBC Tournament's most outstanding player (freshman Ashley Brignac), a second team all-conference pitcher (freshman Donna Bourgeois) and the starting Cajun first baseman (freshman Gabriele Bridges).
