Oklahoma City - Louisiana’s Lady Cajuns softball team will not have to wait long to play their opening round game of the 2008 Women’s College World Series as UL (51-13) and Florida (67-3) square off in the first game of the day at Noon on Thursday, May 29, at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, Okla.
The Cajuns, who will serve as the No. 8 seed, are paired with the No. 1 Gators and will serve as the visiting team in the first round. For Louisiana, the appearance in the College World Series is the fifth in school history, while the trip marks the first for Florida in their history.
After Florida, UCLA is the No. 2 seed, followed by Alabama (No. 3) and Virginia Tech (No. 4). Seeds five through seven are familiar names to the Cajuns, as UL played each of them at least once during the 2008 season. Texas A&M is the No. 5 seed, followed by Arizona State and Arizona who are No. 6 and No. 7, respectively.
Each of the games throughout the College World Series will be televised on ESPN or ESPN2. Consult www.ncaasports.com/broadcast under “TV Schedule” for ESPN and ESPN2 listings and game times.
