It's almost comical to look back on, but today, as UL begins preparations for its fifth trip to the Women's College World Series, it's nice to know that job security is intact for the Cajuns' husband-and-wife coaching tag team of Michael and Stefni Lotief.

No, there was never a question or issue with the braintrust of the school's most successful athletic program. But see if you've heard this one before:

"I was just telling someone that if I were the AD at Louisiana () right now and they didn't get to the College World Series, I'd fire the coach.

"Well, just Mike, not Stefni."

Dateline: Sulphur.

Date: April 19.

Game: U.S. Olympic Team vs. UL.

Quote: Team USA head coach Mike Candrea.

So the Lotiefs get to keep coaching. And the Cajuns will keep chasing a dream when the World Series opens on Thursday and runs through June 4 at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.
