Thanks, Buddy. Always good to hear that a Ragin Cajun is doing well.

Now, can you go help our current Cajuns hit for tonight's game?

    Thank you!

    Wow double great news.

For some reason I didn't think Luc was playing I heard his alternate hit for the cycle. The Brew Crew is on fire.

Default Blue Jays September Call Ups - Beck & Farquhar

    http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/201...avidi_callups/

This is a great article about the September call ups with quotes from the Blue Jays GM on each. Pete Rose has taken a liking to Chad Beck and could possibly contribute to the GM giving him the call. Beck was traded for David Eckstein in 2008 and was almost out of baseball when he was demoted to LOW A as a 24 year old. He rebounded by making it back up to High A in 2010 and having a good showing, tearing up AA in 2011 and getting a few starts in AAA before being promoted.

CHAD BECK: Acquired from Arizona in 2008 in exchange for infielder David Eckstein, the 6-4, 245-pound right-hander is an intriguing arm. The 26-year-old has what Farrell described as a “heavy” fastball with sink, which profiles him as a late-inning relief candidate.

Beck also has some big-name fans. While watching Saturday’s game in Las Vegas, Anthopoulos ended up sitting with Pete Rose for a couple of innings and baseball’s all-time hits leader sang Beck’s praises.

“(Rose) told me he’s in Vegas 25 days a month and he comes out to watch the team a lot, so I started to pick his brain a lot about the players,” said Anthopoulos. “The guy has a lot of hits and has seen a lot more games than I have, so why not take advantage. He said Beck stood out for him.

“He started for us in New Hampshire and even Vegas. We think he’s got some ceiling and some upside as a reliever, he’s got a very good arm, throws very hard.”

DANNY FARQUHAR: At 5-11, 180 pounds, the 24-year-old right-hander isn’t big, but he has been effective.

Traded to Oakland over the winter as part of the Rajai Davis deal, he was reacquired in April in a trade for left-hander David Purcey. With Vegas he was 4-5 with 14 saves and a 4.70 earned-run average in 50 games, and is viewed as a candidate for next year’s bullpen.

“He’s someone in terms of right-handed bats can do a pretty good job against them, and is someone we think has a chance to be a reliever for us,” said Anthopoulos. “I don’t know in what role yet, that’s part of giving him a chance to come up here.”

Default Danny Farquhar claimed by the Yankees

Good for him. That pitching staff is in shambles...might have a chance to get called up this year.

I wouldn't call it shambles. It will be awesome if they do call him up. They need starting pitching more than anything though so unless they see him being able to make that jump I think he'll sit in the minors for the time being.
