Inconsistent play with the bat and glove left UL short of meeting preseason expectations all year.

Struggles in both areas did in the sixth-seeded Ragin' Cajuns again on Saturday with a pair of losses to No. 2 seed New Orleans.

After being mercy-ruled, 10-0, in seven innings in the morning at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field, the Cajuns saw their season end with a 6-5 loss to the Privateers in a bracket final of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

"We just had too many non-competitive at-bats throughout the (second) ballgame and non-competitive innings," said UL coach Tony Robichaux, whose Cajuns had twice as many errors (six) as hits (three) in Saturday's first game. "You can't do that against a team that can swing the bat like them."
