Houston Super Regional Times Set

Houston - The NCAA announced the game times for the 2008 NCAA Houston Super Regional which will feature Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns and the Houston Cougars. Game one of the Super Regional is slated for 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23. The second game between the two squads is set for Noon on Saturday, May 24, with the “if necessary” game to follow at 3:00 p.m. The No. 8 National Seed Houston Cougars will be the home team in game one and occupy the third base dugout. The Cajuns will be the designated home team in game two on Saturday. Should the Super Regional need a game three, the home team will be determined by a coin flip. All-Session Tickets for next weekend's NCAA Super Regional at Houston are on sale now. All-Session prices are $25 for adults and $15 for youth. Only all-session packages are available prior to game day. Students of the participating schools, with valid student ID, can purchase one student ticket at the gate for $5. Single-game tickets will go on sale at the gate one (1) hour prior to the start of the first game each day. Tickets can be purchased with cash, check or credit card either online or in person at the UH Athletic Alumni Center. If fans chose to buy tickets at the gate, ONLY CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED. All seating at the Cougar Softball Stadium is general admission. Fans can purchase 2008 NCAA Super Regional All-Session Tickets here. The Cajuns and Cougars met earlier this season with the two teams splitting the two games. Houston halted the Cajuns’ 18-game winning streak with a 2-0 victory in the first game of a doubleheader on April 30. Louisiana responded with a 4-0 shutout win in the nightcap of the twin bill. It seems that not even ESPN 3, 4, 5 or 99 is interested in travelling to the Gulf Coast to cover games.

There are 8 Super Regionals and the only ones not being televised are Alabama/Missouri (hosted by AL) and UL/UH, which is of course hosted by UH.

The other 6 Super Regionals are on either ESPN or ESPNU...bummer for us as, especially as we all tire from being the low man on the totem pole.
