He will be here for 2014/15 and that my friend is a half a decade. That is one quality position a year he better be better than 20 wins in the S-B-C for me to jump on his bandwagon. He will not reach twenty this year, and after four years that is about typical, about average, and I guess that is what turns you on being ok, typical, average.

You've already decided this will not be a good year. You demand good numbers, and then when the coach is delivering, you still b**** and whine. And then when someone points out the progress being made (more wins, more butts in the seats), you stick with your Chicken Little routine, and call me "silly" for being "turned on" to being "average."

Apparently we've tasted some so-called success in other arenas, and so some fans expect overnight turnaround. Like I said, if you've already given up on this team, fine.

But I see more people in the stands than I have in a while. I have come to enjoy watching Louisiana Basketball (during the Lee era, it was miserable). I've spoken to plenty of folks who feel the same.

Like I said. I don't remember exactly what happened with Fletcher. But I seem to recall the level of play, the lack of offense, the devolution of Xs and Os, turned a lot of folks off. We saw a lot of that in the Lee era. I've seen significant improvement in this team, and despite your conclusions that this season is already over and we might as well pack it in and Marlin is not producing and why is it taking so long and are we there yet, etc.,......

.....This gd season ain't over yet. I refuse to give up like you apparently have.

But yes, if the sky is falling, Chicken Little, then start ponying up so we can afford to buy out the coaches you think are so horrible and get better ones.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to go on such a rant, but to dismiss a coach like you clearly are when things are actually going well.... Well, it makes me think I'm on Tigerdroppings.com or something.

I never said unending. But we've given a lot worse a lot more, and you're ready to pull the plug on what could be one of the better seasons.

We scrape by some wins in football, and lose games we should have dominated in, but God forbid anyone criticize the almighty Hud who apparently walks on water, cuz he got bowls.

Do the same in basketball, get better attendance and better performance in conference play, but, no, sorry, not good enough, start shopping for a replacement.

Ugh. Like I said above..... Depressing.

IMO...the answer is somewhere in the middle. We are not where I want us to be...or thought we would be at this point...but we are also not in dire straits. We have improved...are playing better basketball Xs and Os wise...have attracted some fans back to the Dome...and players are playing hard for this coach. AND...looking to next year, we have additional talent coming in that should help us improve in the W column...and should result in better crowds.

    My 3 cents.

I think that is absolutely fair.

IMO, a lot is riding on Elfrids decision.

As many here will attest, Im as big of a Marlin fan as there is. But, lets no pretend what Marlin has accomplished thus far is remotely similar to what HUD has.

That is true. And, yes, much depends on what EP decides.

Lots of folks here would take her more seriously if she wouldn't have taken shots at HUD a few weeks back. I admire her loyalty to Coach Marlin and NO ONE wishes him the best more than I do... To take shots at a guy that put UL on the map was totally uncalled for, though .

She also talked about how we at least hung with Monroe as progress.

    HERS... Hormonally Erratic Rationalization Syndrome

Do not argue with her. It's pointless. VJJ Day is right around the corner. You can only move these creatures toward your rational way of thinking with chocolate, diamonds and/or Teddy bears (according to commercial television). Their moment of clarity won't last long... so decide quickly... and swoop in and get what you like most. You only get it for one minute... so do your damage fast... and then prepare for another year of being a big disappointment to her.

Yeah, next thing you know, they'll be letting women vote. The nerve of some people.
