So I did some diggin'.
Robert Lee's best was 11/31 (64.5%) in 2004-2005.
Jessie Evans' best was 25/34 (73.5%), in 1999-2000.
Fletcher's best was 22/30 (73.3%) in 1993-1994.
Bobby Paschal topped out at 22/29 (75.9%) in 1982-1983.
Jim Hatfield, 21/29 (72.4%) in 1976-1977.
The only other coach, and I think you know who that was, posted 82+% winning seasons.
Let's say we just win half of the remaining games, that puts us at 18/33 officially, so it would be the best season we've had since Robert Lee's best (and first) season. If Robert Lee gets six years, and Marty got 8, I think holding any coach to only 4 years is a bit ridiculous, unless it's just so horrible as to be deplorable.
I'll be honest, I don't remember what happened with Marty. I don't know the ins and outs of why he was let go. But don't throw "wins and losses" in someone's face, and then when they deliver IN THE SAME SEASON, say, "well, too little too late."
This season ain't over. And these kids ain't done. I ain't writing them off yet, and anyone who does is a fool.
