Can I say it again. We are terrible at Free throws. Other than that good road win Louisiana.

I agree, the funny part is the Payton (51%) was 8-10 and Long (52%) was 6-8. Moore who is a 66% was 1-8, Mbamalu 61% 0-3 and Brown a 72% was 1-4. Now Mbamalu hasn't shot free throws well since he has been back.

Well Marlin did say that he needed to get Register some more minutes and stop subbing him so early. Looks like things really paid off with that approach.

Super pumped for Heyward. Hopefully this is the boost of confidence he needed and he can begin to contribute more for the remainder of the season.

For the Old Timers like me....listening to Jay, when Register started throwing bombs down I had a flashback...sounded like they had brought Cedric Hill into the game

Rhetorical, but how can you shoot better from the field than the FT line!? Does that ever happen? It almost came back to haunt them and Marlin didn't seem concerned on post game. "We'll shoot them better next game". Lets hope so Coach, cuz we're not good enough to build 20 point leads every night and hang on!! A lot of those misses came at the end, when we REALLY NEED to make them! Maybe we should put one of our own guys next to the FT shooter with a hand in his face! We apparently shoot contested shots better. Still, a good road win, something we haven't been able to do.

It seems we only notice free throws when we don't shoot them well. For instance, this team was shooting over 72% from the line in conference play until last night. Kevin Brown, who was 1-4, had been 17-17 in league play until that miss.

We missed 15 in the second half (40%) which is abysmal. But this does not happen every night. Not by a long shot.

I consider free throws kind of like extra points in football. They should all be made. It is only the missed ones that get my attention. But you are correct. We notice the missed ones.

Well, you are typically considered to be a good free throw shooter if you hit 70%+, at least this is what our coach used to tell us. I'd say you wouldn't be around long if you hit 70% of your extra point attempts as a kicker. Free Throws are not nearly as easy as people think they are but we should be a more consistent team from the stripe to say the least, especially with a guard oriented team
