BATON ROUGE - The final game for LSU at Tiger Park saw one of the largest crowds in the history of the facility.
The announced attendance for UL's 6-3 win on Sunday to clinch the Baton Rouge Regional title was 1,454 - the fourth-largest crowd at Tiger Park. It marked the first time the Cajuns had eliminated their I-10 rivals from postseason competition.
"Without our fans we could not and would not do what we do here," UL co-coach Stefni Lotief said. "We're just so glad they were all here to see this, and we were so close that they could share in this moment."
Despite the loss, LSU still leads the all-time series, 13-5. But the Cajuns have won back-to-back games against the Tigers for the first time since winning in 2000 and '01.
