BATON ROUGE - Long after most fans left Tiger Park on Sunday, Michael Lotief peeled the Baton Rouge Regional bracket sign off the wall near the front gates.

"I collect them," UL's co-coach said with a grin. "I put them up on the wall inside my garage."

Lotief might want to find a better place to show off this keepsake.

The historic memento is a reminder that the second-seeded Ragin' Cajuns eliminated No. 1 seed LSU, 6-3, in the championship game of the Baton Rouge Regional in front of 1,454 at Tiger Park.

No. 9 national seed LSU (44-18) suffered its earliest postseason exit since missing the regionals in 2005.

UL (49-12) plays in its first Super Regional next weekend against No. 8 national seed Houston. The winner goes to the Women's College World Series.
