Thread: Fuselier quick to pick Cajuns

  1. Default Fuselier quick to pick Cajuns

When UL offered Gabe Fuselier an athletic scholarship during the summer just before his senior year, he made his decision to go there about as fast as he can run.

Since he was clocked at below 4.4 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the Cajuns’ junior camp, it gives you an idea of just how fast he said “yes” to the offer. He was equally as fast to sign with the team Wednesday on National Signing Day, when he was the first pledge to send his letter of intent to the school, a fact Cajuns coach Mark Hudspeth noted in a Twitter post that stated “# 1 is in!! Welcome to the Ragin’ Cajuns Family Gabe Fuselier wide receiver from Catholic New Iberia!!”

“I knew that’s where I wanted to be,” said Fuselier. “I really feel like I’m at home with the coaching staff and the other guys. Plus it’s in my backyard and I know that they are going to look out for what’s best for me and I’m going to do the best I can over there.”

Brandon Stokley all over again. Will work great as a slot receiver.

4.37? Wow! He might be the fastest kid on the team the second he walks on campus.

I'm not sure. I remember Devin Scott from last year's class was pretty quick. Anyone remember his 40 time?

If you basing it off 40 time, I'm not sure. But in the 100m, I'll take Devin Scott all day. Just wish they would let them boys go out for track in the spring. Scott would absolutely score points for Cajuns in Sunbelt.

---not sure of the 100, 200, and 400 times but I think 25'1" scores in conference in the long jump!!!

Funny you should post that. Because I thought the same exact thing after I had posted my last comment.

There's definitely some talent on the football team that could help out in T&F.

I agree with you and Runner. I think it's unfair to not let this kid try his hand at some T&F. Who knows if his future is in football, but he could definitely have a possible future running for our olympic team
