Thread: Zachery Harris, James Tabary, Travis Crawford highlight Holy Cross' signing class

  1. Default Zachery Harris, James Tabary, Travis Crawford highlight Holy Cross' signing class

Crawford, 5-foot-10, 185 pounds, opted for the Ragin Cajuns over official offers from Arkansas State, Louisiana Tech, Western Kentucky, Southeastern Louisiana and McNeese State. Crawford said UL and Arkansas State were his final two choices.

“You know a lot of coaches are only concerned about you in terms of how you play football,’’ Crawford said. “But (UL) coaches actually care about you away from football. They want you to succeed in life after football.

“Their facilities now are good, but the ones they’re building are going to be even better. And you can’t beat a winning program.’’

  2. UL 1984, 1999 . . . . Re: Zachery Harris, James Tabary, Travis Crawford highlight Holy Cross' signing class

Mike Strom does it again, honors us. "You know a lot of coaches are only concerned about you in terms of how you play football,'' Crawford said. "But (UL) coaches actually care about you away from football. They want you to succeed in life after football".

His use of (UL) indicates who the player was referring to, not the players words, but the players missing words, so Mike Strom used UL in the story instead of the hated UL-L, or old UL-Lafayette.

Now if Martin Hall will just quit shooting itself in the friggin foot.

I first noticed him doing that around the NO Bowl and e-mailed him then thanking him for honoring our branding request. He did use UL Lafayette as a first reference but then just UL throughout the rest of the story. I'd prefer Louisiana Lafayette written out but I can live with his method.
