Illegal PITCH??

On this website, http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/m...ch?forum=10114, in a thread tabbed "Baton Rouge Regional", a poster had stated even before the regional started that we needed to make sure all of our pitches were "ultra-legal". He said that Arkansas and Tennessee were victims when playing against LSU. Scroll down to "ProudUncle".

_ Some of you are being WAY too technical on this "illegal pitch" thing. An illegal pitch is simply a pitch thrown by an opposing pitcher that, if not for the illegal pitch call by a homey umpire trying his best to help his purple team survive, would end in a loss for the purple team.

_ Yeah, I posted that on the game thread. I've heard she was also involved in an illegal pitch RBI in a game LSU played against Tennessee.

I'm sorry, call me a homer, but when you get to the NCAA regionals, you shouldn't have umpires there that have called your regular-season games. _

In the Arkansas fiasco, her call was the difference in the game. I'll bet this ump doesn't call the SEC next year.

She'll call. And she'll be in Baton Rouge. If she had called something that would have killed a legit SEC contender, then maybe she's out. However we saw today she is a party liner so she will still have a job.

Look at the thread from TV3. The 2 pitches that Hofer is shown to throw on the video, isn't she "illegal"? She looked to be almost 12 inches off the rubber by the time she released the ball, yet no call. Hmmmmmmmm....... All well. All is good anyway. We are going to the SUPER!!!!!!!!!

Holy crap. I thought you might have been exaggerrating a little bit, but from that angle, it looked pretty blatant. I don't know the rule very well, but as I know it, both of those would have been illegal pitches.
