    Thanks for the interesting reads!
Girouard has a bad leg or something like that Robe said. Wont ever get better. They put him in DH role to be able to get the most out of him (which is his bat anyway)..Doubt you see him at 3rd very much with all the guys we got that can play including 2 utility players that can play any position

Something with girourd's tibia, I would think whatever would keep h from playing 3rd would limit his base running.

It's probably more of an agility and range situation with the Tibia. There will be times when he's in the situation to stretch out singles into doubles, etc.....not to mention sliding.

exciting to think, just 2 days til tigue moore opens it's gates for the 2014 season & just 2 hours til we get to talk with coach babineaux about it..

Batting dh and running bases is nothing to grinding 9 innings at 3rd day in and day out......be on the leg for 3 hours a game or 8 minutes a game what is less stressful?

I get what you are saying but it would be an hour and a half unless he plays 3rd for both teams. I fractured my tibia and I wouldn't have been able to run bases or play 3rd. Him 2nd guessing his leg or doubting for 1 second on the based could cost you a ball game. It's not like we don't have depth. I was just curious

Agree on all points you just made, but the major factor here is that while we have plenty of options to replace is glove, his bat is his strong suit. The dude can swing it, we have to find a way to keep his bat in the lineup. If Robe is confident he can still hit and run the bases I'm sure he's capable.

Depth is always an issue no matter what level and who you are. I don't care how deep you are, you never want the better player on the bench. I remember back in the late 80's or early 90's we had Damien Grosse at 3rd (I think) and he went down with injury, we replaced him with a very capable and manageable Mark Broussard, he was good, but he was not Damien. The team felt the differnce. TG's bat is what we need.

He is already on the bench, that's been established. Running, sliding, taking off and stealing bases puts pressure on a fractured tibia. Mentally you can't help but protect it and account for it. I'm all for it if he can do it, he is a needed bat in the lineup but there are other options.

Ryan Wilson and Bazar are two guys he said could be closers. Seemed to like Wilson's mentality for the role.

Said Plitt's velocity has gotten better and his split finger out pitch seems to be working. Can't wait for Friday.
