After playing a loaded schedule this season - and winning the Sun Belt Conference regular season title and postseason tournament - UL's softball team was rewarded with a No. 2 seed in the Baton Rouge Regional.

The Ragin' Cajuns (46-12) enter today's 4 p.m. game against third-seeded East Carolina (36-28) at Tiger Park battle-tested. They went a combined 8-7 against 10 teams in this year's field of 64. Six of those teams - Michigan, Texas A&M, Arizona State, Houston, North Carolina and Iowa - are regional hosts.

UL beat Louisiana Tech and Mississippi Valley State twice apiece. The Cajuns also beat North Carolina, Texas A&M, BYU and Houston.

Their losses came to Michigan (twice), Iowa, Texas A&M, Arizona State, Arizona and Houston. Five of those losses were by two runs or fewer. (That doesn't include a pair of exhibition losses to Team USA. The Cajuns lost 1-0 in California and 2-0 in Sulphur.)
