I haven't seen any evidence of Yvette or Robe being a "traitor" to any school employing them, but each to our own. _
I agree the use of traitor is far too strong a word.

The transition actions of YG looked more like self proclaimed program ownership.

I can almost sense her feelings at the time. There isn't a good coach in America that doesn't have a sense of program ownership. Someway, somehow they have to be able to instantly turn it off when they take other jobs.

UL softball was Yvette's baby, but in sports babies can't go with you. When she gave it up for adoption, her failure was in not cutting the umbilical cord cleanly. I am referring to the information void she left behind.

Refusing to play is not a substitute cutting of the umbilical either.

This is, of course, only MY OPINION... but if were my decision, we would not play in softball OR baseball. I think both our baseball and softball teams would do fine without ever having to play them and get into all this stuff each time. I was SO happy for the few years that we did not play in baseball. I am currently glad that we don't play in softball and hope that continues!!

Yes, what she accomplished with the Cajuns was significant, but her total effect on the program is insignificant in my opinion.

If I work my whole life to retire on $25M and then blow it gambling, my life's work, even though I earned a fortune, was pretty pointless don't you think? _
You do have a point (about the internal damage), but I would argue this -- if Girouard had never coached at U(S)L at all, would the Cajun softball program even exist. You say that you work your whole life to retire on $25 million (and you are right, it would be pointless if lost gambling) -- what Girouard did for the program is worth more than money. Even with all of the idiotic things she did upon leaving, she still created the program. The fact that the Lotiefs inherited a program at all shows you how much effect Yvette had on softball at UL. She made some bad decisions upon leaving and burned some bridges that she may need to use again someday, but she left an indelible mark on the university's athletic program -- in a way, I guess, both good and bad.

As to the "traitor" thing, why is it ok for a coach to move from the Cowboys to the Cajuns without having a negative label affixed to their back but not ok to move from the Cajuns to the Tigers?

Best of luck to both teams in the regional. _
You did not address my point of how she left (letter to season ticket holders). That is the issue, not that she left

Soto was asked to leave LSU. As a result, her move was not entirely voluntary. She probably would still be there had that not occurred.

As for the second, Robe did have ties here as a player. And if folks in lake chuck think Robe is a traitor to them I won't argue that point. But when Robe left Ryan Street he didn't do things or say things to damage their program. And as everyone has pointed out it was more the way Yvette left, the things she said and did to hurt the UL program than it is that she left. And I'll admit, where she left for does add to the situation. _
Coach Robe has also aided the Cowboys in getting their program back on its feet following the problems they incurred after Hurricane Rita.

I see it's pointless having a meeting of the minds with you. You have never jumped in, for your "entertainment purposes", and slammed any of the stupid (and misspelled) gibberish from the LSU ass-clowns that get on here. You selectively target only UL people (of which your daughter is one) and think hard about questions and challenges to UL only. It is always a jab at UL, never any acknowledgement that isn't something ladened with ridicule and never add anything that is not pro-LSU. You of all people don't need to clear "the two-way street"... you are as "one-way" as I have ever seen... and again, with a daughter at UL. Pathetic.

I could care less about using the term "traitor". Yvette was offered the LSU position years prior and used the stage to announce she was staying where her heart was. Well, the wallet has a funny way of changing where your heart is. I really could care less either way. People make decisions and live with the consequences. I would prefer the subject were a dead one. Let's play ball (soft, that is).

As for Robe, when he came to UL we had a very solid baseball program. However, I can clearly see McNeese being sore over losing him.

I like certain coaches for the way they carry themselves... but, I came to know a coach at LSU pretty well over a few years... and to see what they have to endure... I just about can't see them as anything but guns for hire. It always helps when they claim a love for the school they are currently at... but some of these schools treat them like a hooker.... and a lot of coaches oblige.

can someone please explain to me why people of this ilk are constantly lurking and sleazing around our message board.
