Ragin' Cajuns softball team reshuffling with 2013 core gone

The biggest goal for the University of Louisiana’s softball program is consistency, and the Ragin’ Cajuns have attained that throughout the program’s 35-year history.

UL averaged 48 wins per season over the past seven years, including last year’s 47-15 mark. The Cajuns made it to the NCAA super regionals for the second straight year and for the third time in four seasons, winning 29 of their last 33 games. ...

The current projected lineup for this Friday's games is Jordan Wallace at pitcher, Lexie Elkins at catcher, Shelbi Redfearn at first, Natalie Fernandez at second, Samantha Walsh at short, Kelsey Vincent at third, Sarah Arceneaux in left, Haley Hayden in center, Shellie Landry in right and Sara Corbello at dh. This could change between now and Friday, but they have been practicing in these positions for a while now. Alex Stewart will be 2a pitcher, Macey Smith will be 2b. I am so ready for the season to begin.

I like the line up. Lots of new blood. One of my concerns I have is how well Vincent handles the hot corner. Nat's quick hands and release were tough to beat.

Mike said this week that the biggest surprise he's had was how well Vincent has been playing at 3rd. He seemed very excited.

Received my tickets Saturday for softball, I am almost sure baseball will be in the mail this week.
