Harmon took first at Tx A&M in high jump. 5'6" jump. She took 8th at Akr St. Last week, and pretty sure she didn't jump at McNeese St yesterday. Most likely have her week off of comp for rest and McNeese facility is horrible at best. She is ranked tied 3rd in conference only an inch from leader. She should have great chance to score points at conference possibly win it if rankings stand true.

What happened to the "stable" of distance and middle distance runners we were supposed to have? Sprinters?

Sprinters on men's side lacks depth, and distance is filled with potential but all are soph or freshman. Sprinters on women's side has some top of conference talent, and distance lacks depth. Majority of high point scorers right now are in the throws and jumps.

This has pretty much always been the case at UL. It certainly was with coach Lancon. Coach Cole was more successful on the track than any other coach we have had, I believe.

Every coach has his/her philosophy. They usual play to their strengths. Even with that said, Badeaux has spread the scholarships around all components within the team. They are heavy with jump and throws with regards to talent but not due to him only playing to his strengths. Sprints needs more bodies. Distance has bodies but most are underclassmen. It's Badeaux's third year after inheriting a program that hasn't had a true head coach since Lancon passed away.
They still couple years away from competing for conference championships.

X, I am certainly not being critical of Lon. I think he is doing a pretty good job.
