Thread: Men's Basketball vs UALR

    See Greg Popovich

By no means am I an apologist for Marlin, or anyone that wears a suit around campus; but I don't think getting rid of Marlin is the answer. Not now anyway. If he can't get this squad with "2 NBA players" to at LEAST the conference tourney, then maybe we can start talking about a replacement. I mean I get, that should NEVER happen in Lafayette. But I believe he needs to be given at least another year.

That being said, I do have complaints and concerns just like the rest of you.

This team has to realize that there are only 10 games and 5 weeks left in the season. If their mission is March, they need to start marching in the right direction.

I hate saying that a coach has to go, but marlin has to go at the end of the season. Find a young brad Stevens-esque guy

Thats like saying, "go get the powerball numbers and bring them to me".
A lot easier said than done. We need to wait this out a bit longer, IMO.

We should also replace HUD with a young bear Bryant type when he time comes while we are out cherry picking talent

You think HUD would want to be our basketball coach also? or at least an assistant to motivate the team? LOL.

Y'all missed the point. I didn't say let's get Brad Stevens. I want someone LIKE the guy. Young, energetic, decent X's and O's, but can recruit. There has to be a gaggle of guys like that out there.

And wait this out? For how much longer?

    Baseball anyone?

What are we doing differently now than in December? I know we have a few guys out due to injuries, but something has caused us to lose whatever spark we had before we got into the meat of conference play. We went from a possible tourney berth/NIT team and conference contender, to CIT/CBI participant, to quickly aborting our "mission march" altogether.

Another year. This team flashes brilliance for most of the game, then peters out at the end. We are not losing much, picking up a lot, and gaining experience all around. I still hope we finish strong. But next year is lining up well. I want better, but I think at this time we still need a little patience.
