Welcome to a new feature here on Annie’s Eats – Reader Love. *When I first started this blog almost seven years ago (!), I never thought anyone would read it. *It was simply a place for me to chronicle the recipes I was trying as I grew my skills in the kitchen. Somehow, somewhere along the way a few people started reading. *And then a lot of people started reading. *And as so many wonderful readers have stopped by, stayed awhile, left me comments, sent me emails, the focus of everything began to change.
At the heart of it, a lot of this blog is still a record of the fun I have in the kitchen and the new things I am trying, but now, thanks to your presence in this space, it has also become a place where I aim to inspire you and make your time in the kitchen and around the table more enjoyable. *All of your comments, emails, etc. – they mean more than you know. *I can’t tell you how much I love the heartfelt emails I receive and the frequent comments from readers who now feel like old friends. *So, I thought it was time to give you some props. *In this feature, I’ll highlight some Instagram photos of readers who have made my recipes, comments that meant a lot, and any other fun reader moments.*lemerk16 made yeast bread for the first time. *Get it girl! *By reading comments day after day, I know yeast bread is one of the things that most intimidates people, so way to go for conquering it!
marinasalama_ made the ever popular chocolate peanut butter layer cake and it looked adorable with festive candles on top.
janayajansen*tackled an awesome kitchen first by making ravioli from scratch for the first time. *Way to go! *Pasta from scratch is so worth the effort.
megankate111 made raspberry lemon cupcakes and they looked gorgeous!
annemariewoodgate made beautiful salted caramel macarons. *She is also a pastry student and has lots more amazing creations in her IG feed.
My sweet friend Kelsey (appleadayblog) made the Sesame Street cupcakes for her precious niece’s first birthday. *Love them!
Amy of One Preppy Cookie (onepreppycookie) had a long week but ended it right with a family pizza party using my favorite pizza dough ever (and one of the pizzas was fancied margherita, the best eva). *Sounds like a perfect way to start the weekend!
This comment from reader Therese is one of the best comments I have received in a while. *I love love love when a reader tells me they finally had success with a food that had previously eluded them. *She conquered pie crust – bravo, Therese!
One last highlight is extra special to me. *This is Lizzi. *She emailed me a few years ago and explained that she was a blog reader, lives nearby, and was in need of desserts for her wedding. *Now, I don’t normally do many orders, but she was so sweet and I really wanted to help her out. *So I baked a wide variety of cupcakes and a few other things for her dessert buffet at the reception (including the Apple themed groom’s cake in this post.) *Eventually we became closer through email and social media, and I was thrilled when she emailed me last fall and told me she was pregnant! *Earlier this month I had the privilege of attending a baby shower for her and her husband. *I love baby showers and seeing so many friends and family gather around to support expectant parents as they embark on the incredible journey of parenthood, and it was really special to take part in their celebration. *Caroline and I also had lunch with Lizzi and the bump last week, and that was wonderful too. *Can’t wait to meet her little man soon!
So thanks again, to all you readers who make this fun blogging journey more fun than I ever thought possible!
