1 loss in February and 2 losses in March. (Hows that for spin?) In this case 1-2 is the same as 0-3
In the first game UL put up a promising show in leading 2-1 through the top of the 7th inning, before succumbing to a disheartening 3-2 loss.
They never recovered, Saturday's 0-8 and Sundays 1-5 games produced even less desired results.
For the weekend Houston’s combined score of 16 easily beat UL’s 3.
It’s not to late; hopefully the boys of summer can spring to action in the hitting department before conference play starts on March 21st. That is two full weeks plus a midweek game of play before they face conference foe Western Kentucky. That is nine games plus the MARDI GRAS BALL CLASSIC to get untracked.
Hopefully by then they can quit thinking so much at the plate and JUST DO IT.
Next test for the Cajuns is this Wednesday for at 6:30 p.m. in New Orleans against Tulane at Turchin Field.
