UL's Brian Bowman busted out of a slump in a big way during the Cajuns 5-4 win over McNeese State on Wednesday at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field.

When the former Lafayette High standout stepped to the plate in the bottom of the 10th, the law of averages was on his side.

Even though Bowman had doubled and scored to tie the game 4-4 in the ninth inning, he had only managed three hits in his last 23 at-bats.

"It was tough going 0-for-7 at Nebraska, but I just tried to forget about it up there and get back to the basics," Bowman said.
