    It had been about 10 years since Scott Varnedoe competed in the Acadiana Culinary Classic. But, he decided to give it a try at the 2008 competition, held Monday in the Cajundome Convention Center.

    And he went home with a gold medal and the $10,000 Best of Show award for his Rabbit, Wild Mushroom, and Foie Gras Sausage Stuffed- and Bacon-Wrapped Pork Loin.

    "Every time I say it, I get goose bumps," Varnedoe said.
