Yesterday, we reported about some new screenshots of Windows 8.1 Update 1 showing the ability to pin Windows Store apps to task bar with thumbnail preview support. We previously reported that Windows 8.1 Update 1 will RTM in March. Today, Mary Jo Foley from ZDNet reported that the target release date for Windows 8.1 Update 1 is March 11, according to her accurate and trusted sources. This will be a minor update to Windows 8.1 users that will be delivered via Windows Store. ZDNet also reported that Windows 8.1 Update 1 will feature some of the work that Microsoft has been doing behind the scenes to reduce further the memory and disk space requirements for Windows that will allow it to run on cheaper small tablets.
