    UPDATE: The University of Louisiana will remain closed through Friday, Jan. 24, as frozen precipitation is expected to continue into this afternoon.

    The University will resume all normal operations on Saturday, Jan. 25, including the basketball games in the Cajundome. The men’s team will play at 3 p.m., followed by the women’s game.

    Residence halls are fully staffed and secured for students who live on campus. Two on-campus dining options are available today: Guillory Dining Hall: lunch 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m., dinner 4:30–6 p.m., and Café Fleur de Lis: 11 a.m.–7 p.m.

    University essential personnel should contact their supervisors for further instructions.

  2. Default UL closing Tuesday

    The University of Louisiana will close Tuesday, Jan. 28, as icy conditions are expected.

    Residence halls are staffed and secured for students.

    Two on-campus dining options will be open on Tuesday, Guillory Dining Hall: lunch 11 a.m. –12:30 p.m., dinner 4:30–6 p.m., and Café Fleur de Lis: 11 a.m.–7 p.m.

    University essential personnel should contact their supervisors for further instructions.

    If further closure is warranted, a decision and notification will be made by 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

  3. Default UL to open Wednesday mid-morning (Now Thursday)

    The University of Louisiana will resume classes and operations on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at 10 a.m.

    Students who are unable to return to class on Wednesday should contact the Dean of Students Office at deanofstudents@louisiana.edu or (337) 482-6272 to discuss their circumstances. Faculty and staff who are unable to return to work on Wednesday should contact their immediate supervisor.

    Why is the university opening tomorrow at all? It seems like someone from one of the science departments would call and tell them tomorrow's roads will be worse than today's roads. With the temperature staying below freezing until 11 AM and all of the precipitation we are getting tonight, no one should be on the roads before 2 PM or later.
