Yes, but while we are playing "what-ifs"... the pitch around would have placed a runner on first... this would have disoriented the Houston pitcher... she hates base runners... she attempts to fire in a first pitch heater right over the plate... we anticipate this... bamm... tie ball game. Then, back to anyone's game... gotta love that "what-if" stuff.

I don't think they would have pitched around Tankersley until she had "hurt" them. Houston has a lot of confidence in their starting pitcher, and would have tried to stop Tankersley hoping to "discourage" the Lady Cajuns. Maybe we will find out their thinking if we wind up in a Regional with Houston.

A cutie, but oldie. I heard my dad say that to me when I was a young whippersnapper some 4 decades ago. Wow, that makes me sound old!

Saw Dr Earhardt(sp?) tonight at the Rhythms on the River in River Ranch. Dude looks good. Still teaching.

In talking to Mike earlier this week, he felt that Houston knew enough about Tankersley not to give in to her at the plate. I don't think they were going to pitch to her in a close game.

I hear you, but the young lady is going to be named to the All-American Team. The what if's are fun, but not reality.

That depends on how the Cajuns finish the season. If we run the table with wins over ULM and win the Sun Belt Tournament, we should be a high #2 seed. But Texas A&M, Houston or maybe LSU regionals would be a good fit for the Cajuns. This year would be a great time to play in Baton Rouge, depends on how LSU finishes the season.

Man, I haven't seen Doc in a couple of years. I enjoyed his classes. He was head of my major section (Urban & Regional Planning) in the Geography Department. He also mentored me a bit when I was job hunting after I graduated the first time (BA) and the second time (MA). He was a big supporter of UL athletics, but got pretty p.o.ed at the university the way they (mis)handled things. I think I understood that he was a member of the FB team at the U. of Iowa. Tell him "hi!" for me next time you see him.

We'll now get more penalty points with the loss to Monroe. We'll have a better idea of where we'll go after the NCAA rpi rankings come out this Wednesday. There's no chance of LSU going to Houston as a 2 seed when they have a higher rpi than Houston. As it stands right now, I'm expecting us to go to Baton Rouge or Norman.
