We don't have the bargaining chip to bring the Tigers to Lafayette until we beat them a couple of times in BR. Two wins over them next year would go a long way towards that goal. Until we can beat them they have no reason to come here.

Totally disagree.
1. This isn't football, or even basketball. this is baseball. A sport (now) where teams have to play multiple mid-week games, several times during the season. A local opponent is a local opponent...and a 1 hour drive is a lot better than a 3 or 4 hour drive.
2. The last year of the series, saw UL beat LSU once at home, and twice in BR, before LSU won the last two games of that regional. so, UL has beaten LSU, at their place. LSU plays lots of home/home series with other schools in the area. The reason why they refuse to do it with UL is beyond me.
"The reason why the don't do it is beyond me"
The reason why, is they don't have to.
As jay walker would say...If your scared, say your scared. Bring em on!
No, you're looking at it from the perspective of LSU fan, not LSU. There is a difference. I'm not trying to give you a hard time, it's just that I don't agree.
And as for Sports Fan, it's the same thing. "They don't because they don't have to" is not an answer, it is just what LSU fan thinks...and we all know how brilliant some of those opinions are. They don't have to play Tulane, SU, or UNO home/home, especially since they're more likely (in most years) to get RPI boosts from playing/beating a team like UL than from playing SU or UNO. So your "don't have to" reasoning is off.
I do think that we will begin to see more of a home and home series. With a new AD and Manieri understanding the significance of a consistently great in-state rivalry, the series will happen. As for how long...
I don't think that Manieri is afraid of playing in Lafayette. I truly think he is afraid of playing anywhere outside of the Box.
amen cover2, amen.
