They want student support, they need to understand what students want. Hit the sidewalks and ask kids what it would take to get them to the game. We are so successful with our fan base with regards to NO Bowl. Reason being is most are going for the partying around the game. We need to bring a party to these kids. Make these games a spectacle, a can't miss. Make the basketball game part of that party. (And I mean party in a good time sense, not getting drunk.)
But we have adults who are really not in touch with these kids today making the decisions. You want kids to come, spend a little money to keep them entertained. Be creative in that sense. The same ole just keeps us basketball fans entertained.

    See ya'll Thursday!
They should do a parking pass half-court shot or something twice a game as well as the money 3 point shot.

I hate to say it but have they thought about doing some kind of promotions to get more people in attendance? Buy one ticket get one free? Last game I went to the beer was so expensive that I almost left. Make the beer more reasonably priced and more students would probably go.

Note: I have been working out of state and haven't been to a game this year, maybe they do these things already.

The problem in my opinion is the lack of information coming out of the university. Why have we not emailed all of the RCAF members, season ticket holders (of all sports), students hyping this weeks game. It is not the job of the local news paper to hype our teams. If we cannot send out a consistent message about branding and the need to support our teams (all of our teams), then why should the local newspaper. The newspaper and TV stations are here to report the news, there is no news coming out of Martin Hall or Reinhardt Drive or at least a consistent message. We have had an opening to for an Associate Athletic Director open now for how many months???? What they are saving in salary they are loosing in donations. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon or a brain scientist to figure some of these things out!
Rant over, have a great day!

I saw the kids had free ticket coupons... good move. What I wonder is.. why not sell $5 3rd level seating.. try filling up the first five rows in the 300 sections... Price the game to get people in... First time season ticket holders get tickets at half price.... get the vendors some business.

Is the basketball team out drawing the ice gators?

True but it is in their best interest.

Creating buzz about an event followed up by comment and analysis will sell more papers.

The Advertiser can create their own audience, something they cant really do promoting out of town events.

The large beers are $8.50. If you look at it as bang for your buck ($/fluid ounce), beer at UL basketball games is the best deal out of probably any other sport.

Ya jack leg. I'll be there for sure. Geaux Cajuns! We need to let Ga State know whose house they'll be in. I hope the crowd is large.
