Lightning and rain did nothing to delay the inevitable.

After an extended delay early in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader, UL's softball team shook off the rust and took care of North Texas. The Ragin' Cajuns won the first game, 8-0, in six innings before taking the nightcap, 8-0, in five innings at Lamson Park.

Holly Tankersley set a school record in the doubleheader and did so by keeping the bat on her shoulder. UL's senior outfielder walked in six of seven at-bats - including five intentional - to surpass Lacey Bertucci's record of 143.

"That shows opponents have a lot of respect for her," UL's Vanessa Soto said of Tankersley, who now has 145 career walks. "Instead of letting her hurt you, they're letting other people do it."
