When Florida Atlantic softball coach Joan Joyce first saw UL play last season, she was impressed with the Ragin' Cajuns' ability to hit the ball.
Joyce's second go-round against preseason Sun Belt favorite UL left her even more impressed.

Last week, the first-place Cajuns (34-10, 12-2 SBC) swept a three-game series from the reigning conference champion Owls at Lamson Park to take a three-game lead in the standings with two weeks left in the regular season.

"When I saw them for the first time they had some big hitters," Joyce said of the Cajuns, who play a doubleheader at 2 p.m. today against sixth-place North Texas (24-28, 9-12) at Lamson Park. "It was scary stuff. Now they have a more well-rounded team. They have hitters who hit it hard and can slap stuff.
