Stars to me are half the equation. The other half is player development.
We are forming an NFL D-Line with the likes of Big Juicy, Briscoe, and LaDarius Kidd. Big nastys across the line here...
If stars mattered, they wouldn't change depending on the school he is signing/committed to. He is either a 4 star or he isn't. So why when a kid is being recruited by upper level sec he is a 4, then if he commits elsewhere he is all of a sudden a 3? Nothing changed about the kid...just where he wants to go to school.
Case in point was when Charlie strong was talking in his opening press conference he was saying how teddy bridgewater bounced from a 4 to a 5 when he committed to an sec team and dropped to 4 when he landed at Louisville in the big east. Same concept even in leagues that were considered auto-qual leagues. All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.
D-line despite the conflicting details on Scout.
My apologies if my comment came off the wrong way. Just wanted to make it known to those who were asking a few days back about any unknown targets that the staff was looking at. Kidd was one of the ones that they were really hoping to flip.
-----Vic and I go back a LLLLLong ways from fighting outside a baseball game as kids to beating Holy Cross for the City Championship and his going to Tulane----I remember when he came here and just talking a lil philosophy one day and he said we are going to line up and go after them as people were getting away from the read concepts---just amazing that some of todays offense looks like the Jesuit Single Wing from the 1950s that I had seen film of way back or the Baton Rouge HS version of it that looks like our zone read of today!!! Vic along with Barry Wilson had a great reunion of their State Championship of 1963 this past year----now talk about bounce around, those 2 guys did!!!
Here's what Texas Tech thinks about their "once" prized recruit getting stolen
