Western Kentucky beat 2013 NIT team Southern Miss (RPI of 41, 14-3 overall and 1-1 in C-USA after losing to Tulsa). The Cajuns also beat 2013 NIT team/C-USA frontrunner Louisiana Tech (RPI of 98, 14-3 overall, 2-0 in C-USA) and AAC member Houston (RPI of 187, 10-6 overall, 2-1 in AAC).

Elsewhere in the Sun Belt: the Cajuns and ULM beat 2013 NCAA tournament team/Southland favorite Northwestern State, Georgia State beat 2013 CIT winner East Carolina, Arkansas State beat Jackson State, WKU beat Murray State, Texas State beat Tulane and UALR beat 2013 NCAA tournament team/SWAC frontrunner Southern. But none of those teams had an RPI under 175. In fact, the Cajuns beat an Oakland squad (RPI of 154) with a better RPI than all of those teams.

There aren't any changes to the women's rankings, I suspect they will adjust them later and, if so, I'll post them.

Top two RPI teams in the league go at each other Thursday night at the Dome.

    What a terrible basketball league.

The great majority of mid level conferences will have an RPI profile similar to ours. Major six conferences get a huge RPI advantage as they play very few non conference road games. There is a home-road component to the RPI now but it does not make up for the issue totally.

The non P5 should make an effort to play each other home and home more often. Would improve all instead of being pummeled on the road with their officiating crews, and them only playing teams they are fairly certain they can beat.

Express, you are right in that schools in mid major leagues should play more home and home games against each other. However, egos get in the way of brains at times. In our own area, there are several schools that refuse to play us on a home and home basis. Those include USM, Tulane, UNO, and Lamar. Lamar used to play us but now they refuse to. They will likely get a new coach soon as Knight will probably be let go as they are truly terrible. UNO's coach thinks losing to us will hurt his recruiting. I don't understand that logic as we already took 2 of the top 13 players in the state from New Orleans in the early signing period. La. Tech played and lost to us this year. Their program survived as they have lost only one game since. It is silly to place so much emphasis on one game in a sport where over 30 are played as some nights the shots won't fall for the favorite. Cajuns assistant coach Neil Hardin has one of the toughest jobs on the staff in making the schedule. I don't have a solution to the problem, just pointing out one of the reasons we had three non D1 games on the schedule this year.
